Sprint Tank GmbH, operator of around 140 petrol stations in Germany, has set itself the goal of offering its customers an outstanding coffee experience. With its focus on digitalization, coffee diversity and first-class service, the coffee machine supplier quickly chose to partner with Melitta Professional. 

Shortly after the changeover, it became clear that the new cooperation not only improves the quality of the coffee on offer, but also the efficiency and satisfaction of the coffee machine operators in the stations.

Digitalisation plays a central role in the modern petrol station landscape. Sprint uses Melitta's advanced digital solutions to streamline operations and improve customer service. 

All machines are connected online to the Melitta® INSIGHTS customer portal, which provides the manager of the shop shop with important information about the operating status of the machine and the acceptance of the beverage offer in a clear presentation.

 

Telemetry: Precise planning and regional adjustments

 

Christoph Heller, Head of Shop Business at Sprint Tank GmbH, emphasizes the importance of the technical aspects of digitalization: "Thanks to telemetry, we can now see even better which products we should plan promotions on or where our focus of the individual regions lies in order to be able to respond to them more individually." Coffee variety with fresh milk or oat drink

Another focus of the cooperation between Sprint and Melitta is the variety of coffees. Sprint has decided to use the comprehensive beverage portfolio of Melitta Professional's fully automatic machines to offer customers a wide range of coffee beverages. From café crème and cappuccino to milk drinks and oat drink variations – the selection is diverse and of high quality.

 

Variety at the touch of a button: The XT7 as a flagship

 

Variety and flexibility were required not only in terms of the offer, but also in the adaptation of the machine equipment to the respective locations and their individual requirements. Depending on requirements, the Melitta® Cafina® CT4, XT5, XT7 fully automatic coffee machines are used, each equipped with two grinders for espresso and café crème beans. The XT7 is mainly used with the Melitta® TopFoam milk system for parallel processing of fresh milk or oat drink and for excellent milk foam quality at the touch of a button.

 

Thorsten, Key Account Manager at Melitta Professional, explains: "It was important to us that we could tap into the entire portfolio in terms of coffee variety. From café crème to cappuccino and milk drinks to the oat milk variation." This variety ensures that every customer finds their favourite drink and that the quality of the coffee always remains at the highest level.

Quick feedback from stations: praise for ease of use and easy cleaning

Christoph Heller emphasizes: "The feedback from our wards was very good very quickly. The fact that the machines are very easy to handle and easy to clean gave us a very good feeling." There is no question about it: the ease of use of the fully automatic coffee machines and the fully automatic cleaning "Clean in Place" play a decisive role in the satisfaction of the operators on site.

 

Adaptation to individual needs: standardization and flexibility

 

The implementation of the new coffee concept at Sprint was not without its challenges. Thorsten Muglin describes two major challenges: "On the one hand, to accommodate the Sprint coffee concept in a standardized way to the individual needs of the locations. Accordingly, we naturally had to look on site to see which machine concepts would fit into the coffee concept. The other was that we had to design the roll-out on Costa Coffee in a very, very short time. We then managed to do this together within 15 working days."

These challenges were successfully mastered through the close cooperation and flexibility of both partners. The rapid implementation and adaptation to the individual needs of the sites were crucial to the success of the project.
