11,111th coffee machine unveiled at new site
Minden. 111 years ago, Melitta Bentz invented the coffee filter, applied for patent protection, and founded the company M. Bentz. In its anniversary year, Melitta Professional Coffee Solutions has now set a further milestone in the company’s history. On May 24, the company for coffee enjoyment in the out-of-home market celebrated the 11,111th commercial coffee machine produced at its new production and logistics site in Minden, Germany.

Robot serving at “Comical Café”
Tokyo. At the fully automatic Henna Café (“Comical Café”), a robot serves both freshly brewed filter coffee and delicious coffee specialties from the Melitta® Cafina® XT4. The travel group H.I.S. has opened the first café of this kind in the department store Shibuya Modi. If the test project proves successful, further Henna Cafés will follow in Japan. H.I.S. already operates two Henna Hotels in which mainly robots are employed.
